The Law Office of Ricky D. Green, PLLC, is a certified Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) through the North and South Central Texas Regional Certification Agencies and the Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council. The law firm opened its doors on February 16, 2005 to serve the interests of workers’ compensation insurance carriers and third-party administrators across Texas. The law firm is based in Austin, Texas and serves as the Austin Representative for workers’ compensation insurance carriers, self-insureds and third-party administrators before the Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation.
Ricky D. Green
Ricky D. Green is a Texas native who grew up in Fort Worth, and attended St. Stephen’s School in Austin, Texas for his last three years of high school. After graduating from St. Stephen’s, Ricky went to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he received his Bachelor of Arts with a major in American History. Ricky then attended SMU law school and graduated in 1993. He began his legal career in workers’ compensation in Dallas, Texas, and then joined Harris and Harris law firm in March 1996. He worked at this workers’ compensation defense law firm for nine years and became a profit partner his last three years of service. On February 16, 2005, Ricky opened the Law Office of Ricky D. Green, and continues to dedicate his practice to representing insurance carriers, self-insureds and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation cases in Texas and Oklahoma. In addition to his legal service, Ricky has served as a board member and vice-chair of the Board of Trustees at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, and currently serves as secretary of the board for the non-profit Austin Geriatric Center that manages the Rebekah Baines Johnson Center. Ricky is committed to non-profit and philanthropic causes. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, exercising and running, watching and engaging in sports, theater, arts, and family time.
Ricky has specialized in Texas workers’ compensation insurance defense for more than 25 years and travels to every field office in the State of Texas. He is a member of the workers’ compensation section of the Texas State Bar, has regularly spoken at the Texas State Bar Advanced Workers’ Compensation seminar, and is authorized by the Texas Department of Insurance to present certified continuing education courses. Ricky is a member of the Texas Chapter of the Public Risk Management Association, the Austin Black Lawyers’ Association, the Travis County Bar Association, the North and South Central Texas Regional Minority Certification agencies and is also licensed in Oklahoma.

Steven M. Stamps
Steven M. Stamps has been practicing workers’ compensation defense for the Law Office of Ricky D. Green since graduating from law school in 2010. Steven grew up in Arizona and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Arizona State University in 2007. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Austin to begin his legal education. During law school at the University of Texas School of Law, Steven took a wide ranging schedule of classes but still found time to work for a non-profit legal office and write for a sports law journal.
Steven began working for the Law Office of Ricky D. Green shortly before graduating from the University of Texas School of Law. Steven has had hands on experience with the Texas workers’ compensation system since his first day at the firm. He has quickly become a veteran at handling benefit review conferences, benefit contested case hearings, administrative appeals, subrogation, judicial review litigation, Designated Doctor submissions, medical dispute resolution, complaint resolution, subsequent injury fund reimbursements, and continuing education across the State of Texas. Whether on the road or in the office, Steven is always available to answer your questions about workers’ compensation issues.
Away from the office, Steven enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog. Steven and his wife are avid travelers and enjoy rooting for their favorite teams in a multitude of sports.

Samantha C. Jeffers
Samantha C. Jeffers joined the Law Office of Ricky D. Green as a Law Clerk in October 2019. After passing the bar exam in October of 2020, she has now adopted the role of Associate Attorney. Samantha graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Woman’s University in 2016 where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Washington, D.C. where she attended law school at The George Washington University Law School. During law school, Samantha held numerous clerkships and gained a wide range of legal knowledge in various fields of law which include corporate law, employment law, military law, and personal injury law. After graduating law school in May 2019, Samantha moved to Austin, TX where she started her clerkship at the Law Office of Ricky D. Green, PLLC. Although Samantha is new to Texas workers’ compensation, she has had the opportunity to shadow Ricky and Steven, allowing her to quickly gain valuable experience. She has represented clients at Benefit Review Conferences and Contested Case Hearings, filed Designated Doctor submissions, and has also spearheaded the firm’s personal injury defense cases. Samantha looks forward to further assisting our clients through the complex world of workers’ compensation.
